Arriving on the Hebridean island of Summerisle to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a local girl, the naive and religiously devout Police Sergeant Howi is lured into a strange world of paganism and deception where nothing is what it appears to be and one which will lead to an iconic and deadly encounter with the Wicker Man. Defying simple genre conventions, the film is a heady witches brew of dark comedy, weird musical interludes, horror and eroticism. One of the great cult films of all time and a true original.
